Memorials Pilgrimage Vases
Before starting the pilgrimage to other countries, I had the opportunity to do an artistic residency at Cerámica Suro in Guadalajara, Jal. Mexico in 2022. It seemed important to me to return to my country, especially to the Museo de Antropología e Historia (Museum of Anthropology and History) in Mexico City; one of the places that started my interest in sculpture, ceramics, the poetics of materials, concepts and forms. After eleven years of not producing new work in Mexico, I had the opportunity to investigate, analyze and respond during the residency, generating a body of work. Materials similar to those in the Museum of Anthropology were used, questioning the idea of religion by comparing and contrasting different gods. Colors and textures that resemble plasticine were used, with which, during my childhood, I had the first contact with a malleable and sculptural material.
